A Christmas Dinner

Last weekend we hosted a Christmas dinner for our friends. It was such a good night. I had so much fun decorating my table. So I have two projects that I want to talk about. The first was my little party favor... I did chocolate snowflakes. I was actually looking for a snowflake cookie cutter and could only find this chocolate making kit at the store... so I thought why not. I think they turned out pretty cute.

Second project is my silver table runners... I thought it would be something different then place mats. The flowers are organza fabric cut into circles and then you melt the edges by bring them close to a candle flame.

And here are a few fun pictures from the evening : )

Three Little Pigs

This is my baby with two of my friend's babies. This was the first time they had all been together so a picture was in order...and I thought it would be fun to dress them up. I made them little fleece piggy hats and a piggy nose. Oh, and it was fun! Let's just say the above picture, which is heavily tweaked by my husband, was how I thought the photo shoot would go... below is how it actually went. But honestly, I love the below pictures just as much... if not more. It was an amazing visit... I am so glad Max and I have great friends!

Six months ago I was just 3 months pregnant.
I remember feeling like my belly was just starting to growing. Little did I know how much it would grow! In a few more days I will be full term... pregnant for nine full months. It has been a long time... I am ready for baby to stop kicking me in my ribs and start crying in my arms! I am also ready to have me body back... it will be nice to roll over in the middle of the night and not have to to wake up for the event.

Random and Unrealated

So this has nothing to do with what I normally post about... such as crafts and home decorating, ...it's a new show that I love. It's a Canadian show... (yeah Canada!) called Being Erica. It's about a girl who, at least on paper, doesn't really have her life together. I personally love her life, but whatever. She has this list of regrets and gets to go back in time, with the help of her therapist (I know that part sounds weird, but it's not when you watch the show), to re-do her regrets. Anyway, you can watch the full episodes on the CBC website. (Scroll down to the bottom, the first episode is called Dr. Tom)
I kind of like posting about random things...

More House Photos

Me and my husband went for a tour of the house yesterday. The lady was super nice, she mostly wanted to show us which light switchs did what. Helpful advice, especially since one switches off the out side plug that you would use to plug in your car. (This is important for our Winnipeg winters) She also showed us a bunch of her furniture she was trying to sell, and we asked her how much she was selling her dinning room table and chairs and she said she'd just leave them for us! So nice! I couldn't believe it. I don't really have a great picture of the table and chairs, but the chairs have a fabric seat that I would recover. She is also leaving her fathers tool's and work bench for Jonas. Anyway... enough chit chat... here are the pictures:

These are the floors upstairs, they are fir. The main floor is oak.
This is in the basement. Scary. It reminds me of Kevin's basement in Home Alone.
The neighborhood. I love love love our neighborhood... lots of character homes with color and mature trees.
The master bedroom.
Upstairs hallway.
So much wall paper.... I am a little nervous, since I have never taken down wallpaper... but on the plus side I'm sure I could go pro after finishing this house.
Dinning room.

I never bought myself the old chandelier for the craft project I wanted to do, so when I saw this I freaked! Now I don't have to buy one!
Main floor bathroom.
Main floor hallway light. Love it.

Bedroom on the main floor.
Main floor bedroom closet. This house has so much storage!

Giving Up On Garage Sales

This past Saturday me and my husband stayed in the city because we had a wedding to go to... we usually go away for the weekends. So we decided to take advantage of our weekend in the city and finally for garage sale-ing! I was so pumped! Needless to say it was such a waste of a morning, all I got our of our morning or walking and driving was the frame below.(the outer one... I am just storing it there for now) I think thrift stores are the way to go... they weed out alot of crap and it's all there in one spot!

AAAHHHHH!

Our new home:

Believe it! I am so pumped and I still can't believe it. We put a conditional offer in on Sunday... it was accepted on Sunday and today we cleared up all the conditions and it's ours! Our move in date is the end of August.
I love this big old beast! Let me tell you about it: there is different wallpaper in every room, and different carpet, a secret door from the basement to outside, two bathrooms, five bedrooms, a huge yard!!! (my dream), it's on Jubilee, amazing oak trim and baseboards, a front porch, the master bedroom has a closet with a window in it! I am going to have so much fun renovating it and making it our home! I seriously can't wait!

Now we have to sell this house.... kind of nervous about it. Wish us luck!

Your Wedding Won't Be Perfect!

It's true, best you start believing it now. I was actually kind of excited about the imperfectness of our wedding... I just couldn't wait to find out what it would be. There is always at least one moment at a wedding were something goes wrong... an inappropriate toast, repeating the vows wrong, forgetting to light the unity candle, flower girls cry and in my case guest books get forgotten and an ash try is used to hold down the wedding certificate! I had two.... lets just call them faux pas. Nothing that stopped the wedding from happening or me or my guests from any less fun... just things that weren't planned to happen that way. I had planned to take pictures of my guests and have them sign and comment on a photo album book where I would later put their pictures, but the photo album was forgotten. Instead I have a scribbler with line by line of names and a separate photo album. Nothing I cry about a night, just not what I planned. The ash try I didn't even notice till I saw the pictures... beside looking like chronic smokers, again not too much to cry about... kind of funny actually.

All Grown Up

This before and after is a little different. You my remember this little pup from this past post.
We got her at seven weeks old... and she is now almost five months.
