Arm Party!

I love the look of lots of bracelets.... and when I saw the bead and leather wrap bracelet I knew I had to have it! (Forgive me if I posted about this before... I couldn't remember)

I bought my leather from etsy and used random beads I have collected over the years. I love them... maybe a good christmas gift idea?? Click here for a great tutorial.

Easy Earrings

Time for something that is not house related!
I made these earrings.... ummm, maybe I should say I assembled these earrings... in about one minute. The trick is to have a grandma who will crochet you little flowers! (Thank you Grandma Thiessen!) Then I just hooked them on to earring hooks and glued a pearl in the middle. Voila!

Pretty over h{ear} Pretty over there!

I bought this jewelery tree from Urban Outfitters. I love being able to display my earrings somewhere other then on my ears!

I Wanted a Birdcage!

I really wanted a birdcage veil. I tried so hard, I looked online and looked for supplies... but it just wasn't meant to be. In the end I made a flower piece for the back of my head. It had flowy feather like stands from it, lots of different types of lace and flower parts. After I got my hair done and had my dress on I still wasn't sure if I wanted it or not, but I remember my sister telling me I should, so I did. And I am happy I did, it was totally funky and totally me! I am glad I put it at the back of my head though, it made it a little less prominent... kind of a surprize, like in the pictures were I look head on you don't even see it.

My Custom Jewelery

I was inspired from a wedding magazine for my jewelery. Since I already dabbled in making jewelery I decided to take on the task myself. From the photo you can tell it was wedding time as I had the living room floor cover in peacock feathers. To describe my necklace I would say it was a mangle of beads. I got a lot of complements on it... but I was the bride, I think it's expected now matter what. I also made the earrings for my bridesmaids. They fairly simple. Gold metal, to match their shoes then five hanging beads on each earring.

Garden Varity

I purchased the parts for these earrings after posting about my favorite spring time jewelery. I was so inspired I needed to do it for myself! I love them, I think they turned out really well.

Here a Broach There a Broach

Everywhere a broach, broach? umm... Sorry for the lame title. My latest flare in life has been to the broach. My friends always tease me that I have a "grandma" touch to my fashion sense. It's true... I have a quilted leather purse, I wear shawls and I love cardigans. I guess broaches were just a natural addition into my life. I have bought some brand new, made a few from scratch (example: the large flower and lace one) but I love to buy the vintage broaches and embellish them. I like to wear them in normal ways like on my shirts, scarves and jackets... but sometimes its fun to stick one in your hair or mittens. I have a Christmas reindeer one that I put on my Christmas tree as a decoration when I wasn't wearing it. For storage they sit around a candle in my bedroom... kind of pretty.
If you are thinking you might want to add a little broach to your life you should check out thrifts stores and this site: Littletricia's Vintage Broach Shop.

Spring Time Jewelery

The past few weeks I have felt like primping myself up a bit, putting a little bit of bling on... I blame it on the sun-shiny weather. These are a few etsy finds that have caught my eye. Click on the picture for the link to the seller.

Back Into Beading

I always seem to go through phases when it comes to crafts. I drift through months of scapbooking, or I'll spend my evenings working on refurbishing a dresser and now I am back into beading. I'm always looking at the jewelery section in thrift stores and have now have a pretty sweet stock of vintage beads. These two necklaces are made of all vintage pieces. The cambros in both necklaces were earrings.

Hair Flair

Easy as pie and pretty popular right now is feathers in the hair. I made my little peacock head band with this simple equation: Plastic Head Band + Peacock Feather + Hot Glue Gun = Trendy Fashion Piece. (Apparently I am into equations this week) The Flower was made from a few fake flowers, some feathers and pearls. And on a side note I hope you all appreciate that picture with my head in a mirror, took me about 2o shots to get that.

Asymmetrical Necklaces... with vintage beginnings

These necklaces I made in summer. (As those of you who know me can probably sleuth that one out from the fire engine hair) I used vintage chains, findings, and pearls mixed with some new beads and findings. The one to the left I wanted it to look like an ocean treasure. I had originally hoped for the piece with the three smaller beads hanging from it to be in the center... but the weight of the other beads didn't allow for that. You win some, you loose some.
Ha ha... I have to laugh at myself in this second picture, but that aside,I love the look of random pearls and chains just draped aimlessly. This last necklace is made completely of reassembled vintage jewelery. If you are into making jewelery I highly recommend taking a trip to your thrift stores to add some vintage to your pieces.
